January really flew by! This month we will be celebrating Valentine's Day. Each grade level does Valentine's a little different so I will share information by grade level. I encourage you to have your child write their own Valentine's if possible(or at least some of them). It is great practice!
Conferences are coming up next week and I am looking forward to sharing with you the great things your child has been doing!
Math- We are continuing our addition unit. Kindergarten students are practicing counting objects to solve problems. 1st & 2nd grade students are practicing using(or making their own) a number line to solve problems.
Reading- We are working on a variety of skills during our guided reading time. Kindergartener's are moving into comprehension books and working with answering questions about a book we have read together. 1st and 2nd graders are moving into some simple decodable books that we can pair up with our sight word reading skills. I will be sending copies of the books home after we have finished using them in class. I hope that they will read them to you at home as well!
